This mission plan outlines the phases, tasks, and calendar-ready sessions for migrating and rebuilding the St. Ambrose Barlow Parish website on Squarespace, starting from September 29, 2025.
Assumptions:

- Total duration: 4 weeks, ending ~October 24, 2025, with post-launch monitoring.

Phase 1: Foundation & Strategy (Week 1)
Critical for aligning on goals, gathering assets, and conducting research.
Task 1.1: Project Kick-Off & Onboarding
Session 1: Strategy & Goals Meeting (Mon, Sept 29, 3:00 PM CST)
Initial kickoff complete. Project is now active. Asset gathering is underway. COMPLETED
Session 2: Asset Organization (Tues, Sept 30, 2:00 PM CST)
Create a shared cloud folder and systematically file all client-provided assets and credentials. COMPLETED
Task 1.2: Research & Information Architecture
Session 3: User & Industry Analysis (Wed, Oct 1, 10:00 AM CST)
Define user personas, conduct a comparative analysis of modern parish websites, and research digital trends. COMPLETED
Session 4: Meeting with Fr. Ernest (Thurs, Oct 2, 11:00 AM CST)
Agenda: Review initial assets, clarify key website priorities, and discuss the desired tone and voice for the parish's online presence. COMPLETED
Session 5: Content Audit & New Sitemap (Thurs, Oct 2, 2:00 PM CST)
Audit the current site to catalog content, identify gaps, and design a new, user-focused sitemap. COMPLETED
Phase 2: Design & Content Population (Week 2)
Focus on visual identity and content migration.
Task 2.1: Visual Design & Branding
Select a mobile-friendly Squarespace 7.1 template, configure the site-wide styles (colors, fonts, buttons), and build a homepage mockup for client approval. COMPLETED
Task 2.2: Content Migration & SEO
Build out the core pages from the new sitemap, reformat text for readability, and optimize page titles for SEO. Set up collections for News and Events. COMPLETED
Phase 3: Feature Integration & Testing (Week 3)
Integrate functionalities and ensure cross-device performance.
Task 3.1: Final Review & QA
Thoroughly test the entire website on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Check all links, forms, and navigation menus. Schedule a final walkthrough with the client to gather revision requests. COMPLETED
Phase 4: Launch & Handoff (Week 4)
Take the site live and empower the client for future management.
Task 4.1: Go-Live & Handoff
Run through a pre-launch checklist, launch the site, and submit the new sitemap to Google Search Console. Conduct a 60-minute training session and provide a handoff document with all necessary resources. IN PROGRESS
